Can I feed my baby oatmeal or cream of wheat?
@rachelleclister if he don't have to have a special kind look into buying the store brand its the exact same thing but about 15-20 dollars cheaper. If you sign up for enfmail (or Similac) rewards you get copouns in the mail every month ranging from 5-15 dollars off a can
@mommytotheo, like I said I looked I don’t qualify for those things and I have wic and the formula he gets isn’t enough.
@rachelleclister ask your pedi they can give cans at appointments there's also programs such as WIC that does as well
@mommytotheo, I’m not going to force anything down his th part either. If he doesn’t want the food I’ll will continue to give him a bottle and breastfeed for as long as he likes. It’s just making things really tough right now.
My son still drinks his formula. I noticed that he drinks less of it in the day time and he makes up for it later in the day bt he eats all the meals we eat. And he still goes thru cans of formula. I'll be done w formula this month tho because baby will be one and we're moving o
@mommytotheo, yeah I know that which I understand but I can’t afford the amount of formula he is drinking up so somethings gotta give. Unless someone is gonna start giving me formula for me (I’ve looked) I gotta drop a few bottles a day to stretch. My son still breastfeeds as well when I’m home.
@rachelleclister food shouldn't replace formula\breast milk until they are 1. It is their main source of nutrients. With that being said he may begin to drop a bottle a bottle when he starts soilds but do not try to replace
When I started oatmeal o would blend it up a little so it wasn’t so chunky and slowly started blending less and less. Now he can eat regular oatmeal and does good with textured things
@rachelleclister solids actually shouldn't replace formula/breastmilk. Until he is 1 year, his main source of nutrition should be formula/breastmilk, with food on top of that.
@dope.ass.mom, that’s what I needed to hear. I’m about to try this out. Thanks. Cause two c and in a well isn’t gonna cut it for me
@dope.ass.mom, sweet I have a mother question. Did you baby led weaning? Or really what age did you give your child more food then formula. My son is going through formula cans like crazy and I can’t afford this. So I’m hoping I can replace just a few bottles a day with food
@mommytotheo, I’m not tryna pour my heart but no one in my house works my husband is a veteran and we have to live off his disability until I can find a job. Like we don’t do anything. I buy the cheaper formula trust me in doing all that I can to keep him with formula and breastmilk. I’ve even tried pumping again. It ain’t working. He eats from my boob and still asks for a bottle after that that’s why I’m feeling like food can help even just 5% until I can find a job.
