It sounds like strep to me but then again, I'm no doctor. The hot and cold is most likely due to the fever. Regardless, sounds like you need antibiotics. I hope you feel better soon!

White spots doesn’t always indicate strep throat. It could be viral. You need to go to the doctor to find out for sure so you can get antibiotics if you need it.

Ugh. I had that last summer. It was terrible. Lasted for more than a week because it was viral and not strep. All I could do was taken pain killers and eat soup.

Some type of viral infection. That's what my doctor called it.
