I never knew that either, until my good friend told me! My daughter was about 7-8 months when I found out. It made me sad that NO ONE told me I was doing anything wrong!

@thatbeachyblonde, right! We as parents don’t always know everything and I’m surprised back then the pediatrician never told me either!

I'm glad there are so many articles now, and people reaching out it to offer advice, because if you're never told something you'll never know what you're doing wrong! (But then there are the people who just don't care to learn😤)

@nomli, back when my oldest was 1 you could forward face them if they were 1 and/or 20 lbs so back then he forward faced at a little over one year! Now speed up 2014 I leave that they had to sit rear facing till 2 and 40lbs. Car seat Safety has come a long way since then

But on a side note, his eyes are to dye for 😍

@boymomx3, some states still let you do it at 1. My son is old enough and big enough to turn but I'm leaving him rear for a while more. NJ is 2 and 30lbs, but his seat will probably work until he's 4.

I see images of carseats from when we were kids, even when our parents were kids (or lack thereof), and it's like, 'Wow. I'm amazed anyone survived.'

@nomli, right my car seat from the 80s was a seat and what the consider a bouncy chair now lol except it didn’t bounce (if you get what I mean lol)
