“Than” and “Then” are completely different words with different meanings.

Than is a preposition:

•I’m happier now than I was a year ago.

•We both like coffee better than tea.

•John is much shorter than his brother.

Then is an adverb:

•I was living in Chicago then.

•The restaurant closes at 11 o’clock, so we must get there before then.

•By then, she was completely exhausted.

I can’t stand people that don’t know the difference between there, their and they’re, you’re and your, seen and saw etc. Horrible grammar is my pet peeve. Like, did you not pay attention at all in school?
