Okay I need some help!
Last week when we had the crazy storms, and tornado warnings on Sunday. My husband our daughter, and I went to his buddies house because they have a basement. Well both of their kids got hand, foot, and mouth disease, they didn’t flare up until last night. And I’m scared my daughter is going to get it, the kids had little contact, but I was playing and holding their kids and then touched my daughter.
What symptoms should I watch for?

Fever is first. Then the rash/blisters.

The first symptom will be a high fever, and then over the course of the next 24-48 hours you’ll start seeing sores on their hands and feet and in or around their mouth. They could also be all over their body, not just on hands and feet.

@sarahbethk, @scream.queen, thank you ladies, how long does it typically take to show symptoms if she does happen to have it?

Usually within a few days. My oldest son got it and three days later my infant got it and ten a couple days after that I got it lol

@mrscecco316, Fever, sore throat, and runny nose should appear 3-5 days after exposure. Then 1-3 days later rash and blisters.

@mrscecco316, my son was 4 months when he got it as well. He got a less severe breakout than my oldest and the worst was over in a couple days. He also never got a high fever, just a low grade and blisters in his nose and throat and on his hands and feet. It can look totally different for each person. Good luck!!
