I see one year olds forward facing all the time, and it makes me cringe.

Yesterday going to my daughters 1st grade i saw a child get out of the front seat... Like are you serious 🙄

@jack.ass Well. If I say something that will start a war, and I didn't see it with my own eyes my husband did. So. I texted someone who does know her, but I'm not sure yet.

@nerdymommyplus2 I drove by a truck with a carseat in the front seat once, luckily no kid was in it currently, but we all know it's there for a reason. Some people really don't get it.

Some trucks allow you to turn off the airbag manually so you can put a carseat in there.... Safely. But it's only safe if you can turn off the airbag

They need to have a place to attach the top tether though if forward facing though as well. But if baby is rearfacing and you can turn off the airbag then it's perfectly safe.

Usually it's okay to have a carseat in the front if there is no backseat available, but only it your car let's you disable the airbag.

I have a friend who was so excited that her daughter hit 20lbs because it meant she could front face her, as per the carseat. The girl just turned one, and regardless of how unsafe that is, the law in NJ is 30lbs and 2. But does she listen? No. She also doesn't listen when we tell her the straps are too loose, that her 3 year old still needs to be in a harnessed seat, and that her 5 year old still needs to be in at least a booster. 🤦‍♀️

@hollya1221 They make carseats for extended rear facing, and most pedis aren't that knowledgable on car seats. 2 is recommended.

There's plenty of affordable seats to keep her rearfacing. and they'll find a way to get comfortable.

@hollya1221 I'm not judging you, just trying to give you ideas and help keep your kid safe. It doesn't have anything to do with weight or height, it has to do with their bones. Just wouldn't want anything to happen if you got in an accident that could have been prevented. Not sure why you deleted your comments. 🤷‍♀️ Also depending on where you live it is illegal in some states.
