We are trying to get rid of the pacifier. Anyone have any tips or tricks that would help. We have gotten it down to where she only gets the paci when it's nap time or when she is going to bed for the night. We don't give her a paci when she is awake.
my kids would never take them but I've heard a lot of moms say they cut a hole in the and baby lost interest.
@thegermanmommy i'll wait til she get really sleepy(she'll be a little fussy) and start playing the children lullabie off YouTube while rocking her close to your chest. Works every time. 😉
@pandyland she is almost 16 months. I am trying to get her off the paci by the time she is a year and a half. She does great during the day with out it, but as soon as she gets sleepy she wants it.
It took my son a few nights to adjust to not having his binky. But all is well now try holding and soothing her while playing lullabie music. How old is she?
We took my older sons away at about 1.5 years old and we just went cold Turkey. He kept chewing holes in them and I was tired of buying him new ones so we just took it away. It was a rough few nights for sure and it was hard to get him to nap without it but after a few days he adjusted and when my 2nd was born a couple months later he never even tried to take his.
Honestly I'd just wait a little longer. It looks like you're about to have another baby (which may take a pacifier) if she sees baby with it and hers is taken away, she may take it out on the baby. Most people don't take it away until closer to two.
I’ve seen a lot of posts on Facebook of kids sending their paci’s off on like a balloon or something like that. One final nap or sleep with it and then when they wake up they start with the send off and then a celebration for being a big kid now. I wouldn’t know if it works or not. My kid doesn’t use one.
My 1st we got rid.of it and she started sucking her thumb and still does. 😐 my 2nd we waited til she was 3 and the dentist told her to stop and we read the paci fairy book and that was that. I had mine til I was 3 and had no dental.issues.
