I'm literally so pissed off at people with this whole car seat thing. in most if not all states, for its only a recommendation, for 2 it ain't about them growing up to fast!!! this whole it's not safe shit is bullshit! my kids were turned forward facing at 1 year and all lived. I was forward facing at 1 year and I'm still alive so was my husband who by the is ALIVE! My siblings and his siblings were also front facing at age 1 and are all still ALIVE! My parents weren't alone front facing at age 1 but younger than that... my were held in the arms of my grandparents on the way home from the hospital because they didn't have car seats until the 60's, guess what SO WERE ALL OF YOU IDIOT'S! IT'S RECOMMENDATION FOR CHILDREN WHO DON'T MEET THE WEIGHT REQUIREMENTS FOR A FORWARD-FACING CARSEAT!
I ACTUALLY WENT TO CARSEAT CLASS AND LEARNED ABOUT THE RECOMMENDATION Y'ALL KEEP BRINGING UP AND BASHING PEOPLE FOR!
If, when your child turns 1 is underweight, meaning under at least 20-25 lbs, then he or she need to remain rear-facing until the age of 2 unless the weight REQUIREMENTS are met before age 2.
Why don't y'all actually do your research and learn about the recommendation before asking shit and bashing people. The only reason I haven't put my youngest front facing yet because she meets all of the weight REQUIREMENTS for front facing is because she is one 10 months old but you best be believe the day she turns 1, her CARSEAT will be turned around to the front facing position.

Okay. You just keep saying they meet the requirements and I wasn’t sure if you meant maxing out rear facing requirements given by the car seat manufacturers or the min requirements by some laws. I just wanted to clarify.

It's actually not a law in my state, in the one I'm from originally, or the one I'm in, or the one I moved here from!

I’m glad y’all made it out safely.
I don’t really see the need to rush turning my son around but like I said, as long as you are following the law, it’s all your decision.
And yes, I’m very well informed about car seat safety and I’m learning more everyday. I know that my son is safest rear facing for as long as he is able to so that’s what we’re going to do.
But question, and I mean no offense, why would you continue to forward face before the age of two knowing that your child’s spine is very vulnerable?
I don’t really see the need to rush turning my son around but like I said, as long as you are following the law, it’s all your decision.

I was blessed the day of my car wreck because I should have lost my pregnancy and my husband and I didn't, all my kids were safe and unharmed, as if the wreck didn't happen. Not a single scratch from broken glass, no marks from the straps.
with the settlement we got from that wreck we bought a newer car and 3 new car seats, my oldest no longer needs one, so we bought our then 3 year old, one, our then 1 year old one and our newest addition one, who is now 10 months old.
Our oldest is 11, at the time he was 10 years old.

@mommaofjais I do know. I've been in car wrecks with my kids because dumb ass people don't know what red means. I was 7 months pregnant, with 3 kids in the back and they are all fine, that car wreck was so bad, I was hit dead on and t boned and the car was totalled.
Did you know that majority of these people who lose their child in car wrecks like the one I had a year ago, is do to the car seat being 2 old, or not being installed properly?
oh yes there is a way to install a car seat wrong!!!
And almost every single set of parents don't realize it!

I see that you mentioned about all of the children who were not in car seats or who were ff at age one and are fine, the only thing I have to say about that is they were very very lucky. What about all of the children who did not make it because of that? Why do you think they have updated car seat safety so much since the 60’s.
Driving is one of the most dangerous things we do everyday. I don’t know about you, but I want to make sure my child is the safest he can be, you know?
