Story: We bought a house 5 years ago and lived in it for 4 years, during that time we encountered “weird” things such as kitchen lights turning on and off (not switches, but pull chain lights) and hearing footsteps on the stairs. Freaked me out to where I almost wanted to move but we just agreed to completely ignore them and act like we didn’t notice... eventually it went away or was so subtle it didn’t bother me for the last 3 years living there. Well last month we moved a family into the house.

Fast Forward to yesterday: I went to collect rent from the family, and the mom was like “so I don’t want to scare you but I think their are 2 spirits in the house” I’m completely froze 😳 I ask her to explain. And she says she feels a spirit in the kitchen, and also occasionally sees someone sitting on the staircase and hears them walking up and down. I’m like 😳😳🤭 and she says “I don’t want you to think you let a crazy person into your house, I just wanted to let you know. They are friendly I don’t have any negative vibes from them, just thought I’d let you know”

I grew up in a 160 year old six bedroom farmhouse. The couple (Annie and Nelson) that built the house raised 23 of their own children there, so the house has an awesome history, but my mom was restoring the house to it's original layout (it had been remodeled several times over the years) before she had to sell to come take care of my grandma. Anyway, my brother and I used to hear voices in the house when our parents weren't home. My mom (who's not superstitious in the least) swears she saw Annie in the kitchen one morning making breakfast. We knew they were there, but they were friendly until my mom was forced to sell. She was heartbroken. Circumstances were less than ideal, and she needed me to pack up the house. Because of my work and school schedule, I could only get three days to do the job. I had planned on staying there, it was once my home anyway; but things got freaky! The first night, I saw spiders literally coming out of the woodwork. I'm terrified of spiders, so I grabbed my stuff and decided to go get a room. I opened the door to the mud room, and it slammed behind me, there was nothing open to cause a draft. I can take a hint...I hauled ass to my car and left. I looked in the rearview mirror as I was leaving, and even though there weren't any storms in the area lightning was flashing over the house. The next day, I met the woman buying the house. She told me how she planned to change everything my mom had done to restore the house. I was devastated. I called my mom that night and told her everything. She said Annie and Nelson were probably angry that we had sold the house to such a horrid person. It makes sense. The story has a happy ending...the icky woman wasn't able to pay off the house, so it went back on the market and sold to a couple who finished the restoration. It's since been declared a historical landmark!

I completely understand. I have friendly ones in my house. Same with house I stayed in, in 2012ish. It did seem best to ignore such. When significant other would acknowledge they'd mess with him a little, nothing serious tho.
