My dad was an alcoholic my whole life but he's so much better now & he's usually so good with my kids. (When they are well behaved anyways.) He's better with the younger ones, as they get older I can tell he has a harder time connecting with them. Sometimes I can't help but be jealous and wish he was this man when I was growing up. I hope you all will have a good relationship with your dad.

@lifeisgood2me, my dad wasnt an alcoholic but after her left my mom he wasnt there for me unless it was good for his image. He would only come around whenever I had a sporting competition when college scouts were present or when it came to making a big deal when I graduated high school. He was more concerned about his new family than the one he already had. He is really good to my daughter now but I'll never let him do that to her

@lifeisgood2me, it was at first but my stepdad is more of a father to me than my actual dad ever was. I rely on my stepdad more than I do my biological dad.
