I'm getting my tonsils out Sept 11th.... what's everyone experience with their tonsils getting taken…

I had mine taken out September 11th, 2003 and it went really smooth. I was allergic to the nausea meds that they gave me so I had to have benedryl. I ended up throwing up a ton of blood about two weeks later but they cauterized it and I was fine after that. Otherwise it went great. Don’t drink out of straws!!!! It hurts so bad.

Mine went well except that I was allergic to pain meds given. Once that was sorted out everything was fine.

It’s worse on adults than kids. Both the girls have had theirs out. Have plenty of soft foods handy but you won’t want to eat. My oldest lost 10 pounds cause she didn’t want to eat. Vomiting and a slight fever is normal after surgery while recovering. Just not throwing up blood. Good luck girl
