I talked to this kids dad last night and he had the biggest attitude when I told him that my mom is going to probably spend the first night in the hospital with me. She lives in Vegas and I will be moved closer to the Bay Area by that time. She hardly sees my kids now because of the distance and if she comes out here just because I’m having another baby I’m not going to tell her that she has to leave when it’s all over. More than likely that will be the only time for a long time that she will see the baby in person. He will literally see her all the time.

Are you married or in a relationship? If so I think it is wrong to deny him to stay in the hospital with you and his child. You can always put your mom up in a hotel or have her stay at the house with your other kids, and visit during visiting hours. It’s your choice though!

@amysbabies, we are not to get her but even if we were it would still be the same. Only because my mom only gets to see my kids once or twice a year. That would be her first and only real chance to see and spend time with the baby. He can see her everyday if he wants she however can not.

If he gets to be there for the birth I don’t see the problem. Mom is less drama and she’s been there when she had kids, if this is not only her chance to be with her grandchild it’s at least one of the moments she will cherish for years.
If he’s been there the previous years, I think you’re making a fine judgment call.
