I had my tongue pierced for about 10ish years. I really liked it but it ended up being annoying to have to take it out every time I went to visit my future in-law’s house so I removed it around 8 years ago. I miss it but I think I miss my eyebrow rings more. 😭 Just be careful not to chip your teeth!
@quarla, I’ve heard a bunch of scary things just since I’ve got it.. but right now the bar is crazy long so I’m ready to change it already. My mom said I should get plastic but idk what scares me more plastic or metal
@mokenn13, I had metal and acrylic balls and both worked although I did bite down and destroy one of my acrylic. You just have a be mindful of it when you are eating. :) And don’t change the bar length until your piercer gives you the okay because those ones can close super fast.
@quarla, they said takes 2 weeks to heal but I was going to check in after just to make sure it’s healing right ect. And good to change. Last thing I want is something to go wrong
@mokenn13, it will always be an open wound, so keep that in mind. Make sure you are rinsing your mouth and keeping it clean. :) definitely don’t want to risk an infection or anything!
I loved it. But recently took it out after 10 years, I know people whom it's caused their lower gums to recede & now they've got a hole in between their bottom teeth. It was my favorite piercing but probably best not being life long😋
Like pp mentioned, careful eating lol I bit down on mine a couple times (strangely, always while eating strawberries dunno why) & it cracked some teeth
Had mine 10 years now and still love it. It's my only remaining piercing left apart from my ears. It was also my fastest healing piercing. Just keep it clean and as for the bar I prefer metal. They seem to last longer than acrylics do. But you get funky ones regardless.
