Out of curiosity what kind of birth control do you ladies suggest?

I hear the shot makes u gain weight, and I’m personally iffy on IUD’s I’ve heard a lot of negative stories and just don’t know how I feel abt it yet.

But I’m looking for something that will reduce period or at least lessen it and not just mess it all up. I’ve honestly thought abt just taking the pill but there’s a decent chance of getting pregnant still on it..

idk ideas?

I have Mirena and I love it. No symptoms, only minor spotting for my period.

Just don’t do the depo shot ! That shot had made my life a living hell . I wish I never got it . I decided not to do any because they all have side affects and are scary.

I have had both the Mirena and Paraguard and I loved it because once it was placed I didn't have to think about birth control anymore, and with Mirena I think I spotted once in the 4 years I had it. If didn't have my tubes tied, I'd definitely opt for an IUD again.

I only trust the pill and nothing else. There's still a chance of getting pregnant on any birth control but the risk of that possibility causing severe complications is higher on certain methods. The pill is just better all around in my opinion and if taken at the same exact time every day, the chances of getting pregnant are very slim... For me though, I never took it at the same time and I'd forget now and then but still never got pregnant until I was off of it

@wafflespancakes, @dass72608, have either of you had ur man say they could actually feel it; like hitting it? Bc I’ve heard that happens and is uncomfortable for both parties

@ladyblauvelt_mommyof2, yeah I was leaning more towards the pill bc of thoses reasons.. but forgetting or taking it at different times maybe be a issue for me. But by chance do you know if any pill birth control stops or lessens periods?

I haven't. But I did forget to add that the second time I had it, it migrated up into my uterus and was kinda painful to get removed. However, it didn't take me long to get pregnant after removing either one. First time I got pregnant the following month, and the second time was about 6-7 weeks after removal.

I don't think it's really common for that to happen though, so honestly I wouldn't worry too much about it. I got to the point where I was not checking for my strings, which you are supposed to do periodically to make sure it's where it should be...so that's most likely why mine got so far out of place.

I had the Paragard for 5 years. It was great, only side effect I ever had was it made my period I bit heavier with a bit more cramps. Other then that It never caused me pain or fealt uncomfortable because it has no hormones. I also got pregnant a couple weeks after I got it removed lol

@dass72608, last night I actually saw a commercial that if ur doctor didn’t show u or u sign a paper saying u understand certain things can happen with IUDS u can u sue or something, but I saw on the list the thing that happened to you.

It's kind of hard birth control really depends on you and your body how it affects you I had the pill got pregnant on that I had the depo gained a lil weight but I actually wanted to just when I got off it took me almost 6 years to conceive so now I'm just like not trying anymore birth control the only thing about the depo I like was it lessen my periods but didn't stop them I loved it
