Okay I keep seeing posts about mamas who are about to have their babies and keep getting sent home which made me want to just put this out there. I remember when I went into early labor and my contractions were consistently 2-3 minutes apart for 49 hours😭, they sent me home and said to come back either when my water breaks or when I’m in so much pain that I can’t speak. WELL... I came in right after my water broke and he was BORN 15 minutes after arriving at the birthing center (45 minutes after my water broke)!! My OB told me that I most likely won’t make it to the hospital next time. Therefore I will plop my future super pregnant ass right on that hospital floor like a five year old if they try to send me home again. I wanted an epidural and wasn’t able to get one (obviously), it was fast and terrifying. I had ppd and ppa for a while afterwards, I refuse to go through that again if I can prevent it! So if you feel like you need to stay, STAY!!!

Exactly! They told me they would turn you away if your contractions were not 5 minutes apart and 1 minute in duration. I waited and because of that, my baby did not make it through labor. I always tell people to go directly to the hospital now. The worst they can do is tell you to go home. But not before they check you first. Everyone labors differently, so the blanket rules cannot always fit everyone.

@murphaayyyy, I’m so sorry that happened to you. I was too scared to speak up but I’ve learned my lesson and won’t let it happen again.

@thequeen I try to advise all soon to be moms to go to the hospital if they think they are in labor. Things can go wrong and it's better to be safe than sorry
