Evening ladies.... I don’t normally post on here but I need some advice! My daughter (15) has come…

I don't know how I'd handle that. Maybe a phone, tv or friend ban or something?

But also sit down and have a chat with her about the dangers of it and what could happen if she's not fully 'aware'. The more you tell her not to do something the more it'll push her to do, and maybe even push you both away from each other. So let her know you're supportive but you need her to be safe and you trust her to make the right decision, don't let peer pressure push her etc.. ☺️ xx

Have no experience of this happening but I remember I got drunk once at 15 and my mum and dad grounded me and took my phone off me for 2 weeks. I then snuck it out the drawer to text someone and my dad took it off me for an additional 2 weeks. I was also grounded for a month and it was torture but my own fault lol. I do not envy you at all just now. X

@cheryl123, I mean I think everyone does it, so it's hard to teach them when you did it yourself 🙈 x

I know I did it but I never let my mum catch me! Luckily her best friend brought her home and since then she’s sobbed, told me how sorry she is and thrown up. She is normally such a good girl but I don’t want her to think that this is ok so thinking maybe I might ground her?

@mummyfox, she is very lucky to have a good friend who brought her home. That’s for sure. Not many people these days would have done that. Maybe see how she in the morning if she says anything apologises when sober. I done it once at that age and never done it again so young. X

@mummyfox, maybe it's a good thing that you did, at least you'll be able to talk to her and have an insight into her life. Doing something like this doesn't mean she's bad though, I'm sure she is a good girl Hun you can just have the opportunity to teach her

I know my mum had no idea the things I got up to as a teenager etc. Grounding sounds good xx

@kayleeebeee, lol I know I done it once at 15 and being grounded for a month was bad enough punishment lol. Think I was 17 before I done it again and by then I was working and stuff but went out to house parties as I preferred those xx

I agree with grounding her, as a child I was grounded and had my phone removed..

I also agree with having an honest chat with her regarding the dangers and also opening up to her about the fact that you did it yourself as a child will make her feel like you're not coming down on her like a ton of bricks.. Also If it's something you are comfortable with explain to her that if she wants to have a couple of drinks (wkd's were the in thing as a child for me 😂) then to u would prefer her to do so at your house..

My mum sat down and explained to me that although I was 15-16 if I wanted to have a drink she would much prefer me to do so with a few friends in my bedroom so she knew I was safe xx

God this parenting lark is bloody hard!

Thank you all so much for your help, she’s up and doesn’t seem too hungover. I know she’s 15 but she’s still my little girl and it was not nice seeing her like that! Think a long long chat is in order xx

I'd probably sit her down and have a good chat with her tell her how worried you are and the effects alcohol can you and the dangers I would let her no how disappointed you are and maybe a small punishment like doing the dishes and putting them away tell her you dont want to be in this situation again we've all done it its a very scary thing thinking you've child was out there drunk luckly she has a true friend there who helped her xx @mummyfox
