Depending on the babies age , you most times don’t need to pay for the ticket and the seat because the kid can sit on ur lap. But i think once you book it you add how many adults adults or children .

You have to call and add a lap child to your ticket. Some airlines will require you to bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate

Some airlines might have different policies but that’s how most work.

I personal like southwest. They normally have pretty good rates and you get priority seating if you have a baby with you lol.

Also depending on where your flying from but call and ask , kids under a certain age don’t need proof of ID.
