I have one now. I rarely meet with her but when I do she’s amazing. Very informative and provides great information for me and dad to look at. We started my birth plan yesterday and I feel confident I’ll have an amazing birth experience with her on side. Look up birth without fear
I have one she’s great but def not needed until later in the pregnancy when you start feeling uncomfortable etc and start to figure out your birth plan
We just started our doula program. We are super stoked. Most won't meet with you until around a month to month and half before your due date. Then continue to support you from there on. Ours will be meeting us at the hospital to ensure a natural birthing in a hospital setting that we desire. My husband actually was the one who wanted her the most. He wanted someone that would be able to guide us through different pain management techniques, dances to handle contractions, etc. And if he needed to step out for a drink/bathroom/etc. he wouldn't feel as though he was abandoning me to handle everything alone.
@spookylyn, same for me it’s 950 with no insurance coverage but my boyf travels all over for baseball so he’ll hardly be here so I’m thinking a doula would be nice the one I looked into is there from start to end at doc apts, check in’s once a month and after birth she helps take care of the child
