How soon did you ladies start pumping after birth
@mommy.2girls, me too! I didn’t see the issue of having an oversupply when I had a deep freeze full of milk 🤷🏼♀️
@k_nc, I agree too! Everyone's telling you not to start right away or to start right away, it's your body. You'll know when you're ready & if you pump right away you should have a good supply. I'd rather have a good supply then nothing.
@k_nc, agreed. I’ve been nursing and pumping from the day they were both born (also in nicu) and have been successful breastfeeding both till weaning.
Just wanna say, I pumped right away and I was successful at breastfeeding until my body stopped making milk 🙄 don’t let people tell you what you will and won’t be successful at 🙄🙄🙄🙄
Same day but only because he was in the nicu and he couldn’t nurse, otherwise I would have just nursed him
Wait at least 6 weeks if you plan on being successful at breastfeeding. If you pump right away you will end up with an oversupply as your body creates milk on demand if you demanding more then your baby needs you will def run into issues with latch etc as well as pain. If you plan on exclusively pumping then you could start right away.
I started pumping about 5 days after labor. It was great! My supply is great 🙏🏼
It's recommended you don't pump until 6w or later. Hand expression is safe anytime.
I pumped around week 2 because my son wasn't latching. Hated it. Stupid.
@k_nc, exactly! I don't have an over supply, but I have enough for my baby 🙂
