How did everyone wean their babies? I know Allaiyah is too young yet but would love to know people's preference and experiences! Need to start thinking about all this ready for when the times comes..🤔

I attended a weaning class ask your health visitor if they do them where you are, I decided on baby led weaning over doing purèe just cause of the benefits and you can eat as a family which is a bonus! I love doing it with Kai and his hand/eye coordination is brilliant 😁 I mean it's messy but he's happy lol, research traditional weaning and blw although they're advising more for blw now 😁 it's just personal preference though xx

I started rayhan with breakfast first, gave him baby cereal this was at 6 months. Then at 7 months started him with fruit, so one step at a time really.

Cow&gate do a good book they send out to you, I started off with just porridge, I do some pureed and some blw, they say never to give anything sweet to start as they won't want the bland stuff so try her with veg first or porridge, I started porridge at 4 months xx

It’s all personal preference on what you’d like to do, we chose blw with both our children. It was so much and wouldn’t do it any other way. They eat what you eat from day 1 no extra work of blending or expense of buying jars etc. As they feed themselves, it will be messy but they enjoy it. It helps their sensory development much more with different textures and tastes, and like Natalie said it helps hand eye coordination too.
It doesn’t matter that they don’t have teeth as their gums are very strong and they do all the work. But as I say it is personal preference x

@nataliielouiseexo I'm thinking of BLW as it seems so much easier. I like how I wouldn't have to wean to puree then to solids. Love how happy I see Kai at meal time also!😂 Definitely wouldn't like to use the jars all the time either as they are full of sugar and salt 🙈 xx
Mummy To Kai&Brodie 💙·
@megan-leigh it is easier and your not forking out more money for the jars lol, I started with mostly veg first, trick is to not panick lol 😁 babies have a good gag reflex, oh yeah Kai loves his food 😂😂 least you get to eat while she eats too lol xx
Megan Leigh·
@nataliielouiseexo I quite nervous about it all 🙊🙈 And Allaiyah can put her finger in her mouth and gag so I'm sure she will be fine 😂 And yes an actual meal I'll get to eat in peace 🤣👏 and I think it's a bonus to get her used to my cooking too xx
Mummy To Kai&Brodie 💙·
@megan-leigh yeah just do research on gagging and choking I'm sure you'll be fine lol 😁, exactly Kai even tries to use a spoon himself now lol I still load it for him though everything else he does himself 😁 xx
Megan Leigh·
@nataliielouiseexo Well I had a visit from a new HV as mine was off I'll and I know her from my antenatal classes. So she was here for like two hours and she went through what to do if they're choking and stuff thoroughly with me. I'm still abit nervous though. And what a good boy xx

@megan-leigh oh that's good least you know what to expect, Gary was nervous too when he seen him gag the first time but it's all about them learning , I was nervous and excited at the same time lol 😁 yeah he's great lol xx
