Been awake since 2:30 cuz our daughter was screaming in her sleep... I think she had a nightmare but idk, she was screaming and pushing herself backwards with her arms and kicking, had to wake her up to get her to calm down and it is so scary cuz idk what to do... She doesn't get candy or sweets hardly ever, we avoid any type of inappropriate/scary shows or movies..... I just want her to sleep well at night without having bad dreams

My son went through a phase like this just before he was 2. It was very random when it would happen, like I could never pinpoint a cause. It lasted off and on for almost 2 months then just stopped. He would just start SCREAMING in the middle of the night, like someone hurt him, terrified scream. If you tried to pick him up or touch him he would just start flailing around and freaking out even worse, like I was the one trying to get him. It was SO scary! He would eventually kinda wake up enough that I could hold him til he calmed down and went back to sleep. His pedi said it sounded like night terrors and he should outgrow it. I never did figure out what caused him to have them some nights and not others. It was a rough couple months. I hope it passes quickly for y'all. I know how hard it is to see your baby so scared and you can't help. Good luck mama.

@leonardsquared unfortunately she has been having them for the past 8 months or so and we've tried everything, they happen at random no matter what we do

@1xmom, Oh honey, I'm SO sorry it has been going on so long. It's such a terrible TERRIBLE thing to witness! Have you tried maybe changing up her routine any? Like we started doin his baths at night instead of the morning and moved bedtime up 30-45 minutes. It wasn't really bedtime persay but we'd go in his room a little earlier than normal so he had a little more distraction free, decompress time. It helped to kinda clear out his mind some so he could relax better and sleep deeper/longer. We also started to use essential oils here and there and that helped a lot too. I didn't know anything about them prior, still no expert but I got some help from my BB ladies back then. If you can message @Murdock, she's the one that helped me a lot with info and sources for supply back then. She's WAY more informed than I and I found it super helpful. It might be worth a shot? I know if I went 2 months and thought I was gonna go crazy figuring out how to help my baby, you've GOT to be long passed that! I HOPE, this improves for you sooner rather than later girl. I'll be there to at least listen mama!

@leonardsquared we do baths at night now also, then a story and after that I rock her to sleep. She has a night light in there and soothing music but nothing seems to work
