what’s are ways to help with constipation in babies ?🤔

Is she breast feeding or formula?

@its.a.bird, @phoebesmommy, she did formula at first , and then i got my pump to breastfeed her because she wouldn’t latch onto me properly at first , so i guess i could say both because it was hard to breastfeed her till now , but i’m mostly trying to breast feed her , my doctor told me to keep trying with formula if i couldnt feed her by breastfeeding

@jailienmaldonado, have you seen a lactation consultant??

@phoebesmommy, no i have an appointment this week at the clinic but they haven’t set me to see a lactation consultant

@phoebesmommy, her last doctor appointment was 18th and she told feeding her both wasn’t an issue as long as she ate but i want her to be breastfeed than using formula

Ask for one. Baby could have a lip tie and you may benefit from some guidance! It’s really hard breastfeeding. I cried so many tears bc it was way harder than I thought I would be and I worried ab everything. Honestly baby is only a week old. If you’re doing formula and breast milk, baby’s body is likely trying to regulate everything. Is baby seemingly in pain?

@phoebesmommy, she doesn’t seem in pain , while sleeping she’ll try to push if like she’s using the bathroom but doesn’t cry or anything , she got to poop when i was helping her but it was hard for her to have it come out

@jailienmaldonado, was it normal baby poop? Newborns make TONS of grunting sounds

By normal I mean; she doesn’t have hard poop right?? It’s all like mustard?

@phoebesmommy, when i helped her a couple hours ago it was a yellow mustard color and kinda a thick texture but more like a paste

@phoebesmommy, she still eats normally , when she’s not pushing her stomach feels fine , she doesn’t cry or fuss about any pain , she still urinating as normal

@aileen_west, i’m a first time mom that’s why i’m really worried , but she doesn’t seem to be in pain , she just now started to do the grunting sounds to poop , and i’ve heard formula makes them constipated more often so that’s why i’m just trying to breastfeed her instead

@its.a.bird, i’ve tried the vaseline and qtip method and that’s what helped her poop earlier , im trying to stop mixing formula and breast milk and just give her breast milk

@its.a.bird, thank you i really appreciate it 😩❣️, it’s because her first couple days she would poop after she ate and now it’s changing and she’s started to do the grunting sounds especially while sleeping and pooping differently
