I know this is VERY selfish but I can’t help it. I’m very upset and hurt. My close friend started dating this guy. She’s very distant now and basically ignores me and our plans when we make them. I get that she’s happy and this is her first relationship after being single for like 8 years but it hurts that she ignores me. I’m happy that she’s dating someone, I love seeing her smile and seeing a side to her I’ve never seen but I part of me wishes she would at least say hi to me when she sees me. When she’s alone she talks to me but when she’s with him it’s like I’m invisible.

Usually how it goes with first time relationships or a relationship after not being in one for a super long time . Hopefully the phase will wear off shortly !

I was all into my husband but i never ignored my friends. We didnt hang out as much but i always checked up on them. She sounds like shes being selfish

Not selfish of you at all. Hopefully her relationship lasts because she might just lose all of her friendships

@joselin.salazar47, my “best friend” is the same way! Her boyfriend and I don’t get along (he’s my ex but I sat them up and then he done her wrong & she keeps taking him back) but she only talks to me when she is ranting about him or something and even though I have a daughter and have lived with my fiancé for years now I have never made her feel the way she makes me. Even my fiancé has just accepted that I let her come over whenever she wants or anything like that because “I’m being a good friend” but when she’s with him I only exist while he’s at work (he works out on the road is gone for weeks) or she wants to rant about something. It’s never just to check in or say hi 🙄
