Is it possible for babies to go thrpugh a growth spurt at just a week old. Dd was pretty alert for a couple hours today and was also on my boobs for about an hour and a half but now shes super sleepy she slept like a good 4 hours then i got her up changed her diaper and got her in jammies and put her to breast she nursed about 10 minutes and was out again and doesnt wanna get up. Usually she nurses a good 30 minutes so this was quite short. She did empty out quite a bit but she wasnt there as long as she usually is.. Could this just be a growth spurt thats making her extra sleepy ?

@vvrobinson i actually have that book lol. Idk why i always have so many questions like my other daughter isnt even 2 yet so its not like its been super long since ive had a newborn. But for the life of me i cannot remember a damn thing about the newborn stage with her

@its.a.bird i dont think so yet but getting close.. when we went back friday (48 hrs after diacharge) shw was 7lbs 1oz. Birth weight was 7.7 we left the hosptal at 6.14 so shes gaining

@its.a.bird she was at a 5 for jaundice which is low risk. She prettymuch had these same sleeping habits in the hospital. She slept at 4 hr streaches but she was also taking 2 oz a feeding. The nurses were suprised at how good of a eater she was right away. And now that my milk is in im sure shes getting more than 2oz because im pumping about 2-3 out of the opposite side and it doesnt feel as empty as when she nurses
