@nzxo_ there is no way to really clean a piercing gun. Plus the people that do it go to a day class. A professional piercer is trained and does apprenticeships. Their needles are sterile. Plus the way they pierce is like a teeny tiny hole punch with a sharp needle vs a gun that is a blunt end kind if like driving a nail through wood. It gets through by pushing things out of it's way.
@nzxo_, it wasn’t any more painful than a gun would have been. She cried for a minute, then was fine. The staff was very knowledgeable about what they were doing, where and how to pierce, etc. I felt much more comfortable taking her to a professional. I recommend doing the research yourself if you’re skeptical.
I went to Claire’s to get my daughters ear pierced. She cried a little as usual but she didn’t have any infections or anything like that. I didn’t know all the info with guns vs needles then. Thanks to the ladies on here I’ve learned that it’s better with a needle. So next time if I have a baby I’ll do it with a needle.

If they are they shouldn’t. Piercing guns can’t be sterilized, the people doing it aren’t properly trained, and it can leave the ears with keloids.

Absolutely not. Professional piercer only.

When getting ears pierced it should be done with a needle. Not a gun.

I agree with @glencoco and @squishymommy1, We took my daughter to a tattoo parlor to pierce her ears.

@d-lane-knee11, and they used a needle? Isn’t that more painful for them?

@glencoco, I took my 4 yr old to a pagoda and her ears never got infected
K·
@nzxo_, oh so I shouldn’t use a car seat either then because my grandparents didn’t and they turned out fine, right?

@glencoco, lmfao wow.

It's safer to get her ears pierced at a tattoo shop. They are all professional and properly clean their equipment.
