I think you can put both of your last names if you arent married

You can put any name you want. Even hyphenated. But if the game plan is marriage, then why not?

@abigaill even if you are married you can put both names you can get whatever you want you can pay your mom's maiden last name whatever last name you want

@abigaill, @worlds.okayest.mom, where I’m from they require both party’s to have identification and if baby is to have dads last name out of marriage he has to be present. It’s so annoying

@gingiej1207, they wouldn’t allow my last one to have her dads name unless he came up to the hospital and presented himself.

That’s how it is in Louisiana. The dad has to come & show ID. My daughter almost didn’t have her dads last night bc he left his ID but someone ended up sending him a picture of it,

@worlds.okayest.mom, bc it doesn’t always work out. That happened with my daughter and she ended up having a different last name than her siblings

My oldest son has both his father's and my last name and he was out of state when I had him.

If he's out of state for work it may be possible to have everything waived. That's what I did, my daughter has her father's last name and he wasn't around when I had her.

@emily526, I’m hoping that just mailing the paternity papers will be good enough cause I’m gonna be pretty mad if I have to wait 4 months to change his last name.
