@blessed2018w9 They are so sweet! Can be expensive and lots of work and have health comolications but so worth it! My babies were both just best of friends with our pitbull that we had when I was still living with my parents, it was precious. They are just so much fun and so precious. Seriously suggest if you have the time needed, everyone should have a hedgehog (as long as they do the research, there's too many stories of people not knowing information and the hedgies ending up dying or hurt or sick). My best friends though, have been these little critters. 💕💕💕

@adri8192 My first baby, Squiggles I adopted from a family but my second, Flower I got from a good breeder in our area. She was about $190 the cage I had her in was just an average guinea pig cage from the pet store which is usually $20-$40. Then depending on if you can cut the nails or not pricing for that, before I got it down I had to take her to the vet at it was $25 once a month. They need a heating lamp, as they are desert animals the costs varies greatly on what you get I paid about $50 on the lamp and bulb I used. Then they can eat just cat food but most mix it with a hedgie mix that also varies in price, as well as bugs, I just gave mine freeze dried crickets, grasshoppers and mealworms mixed I got a little jar from petco about once every 2 months for $10. Mite treatment monthly. They are very prone to cancer but that usually doesn't happen until atleast age 3. There is the possibility of Wobbly Hedgehog Syndrome but our breeder will give you a new baby if yours does end up with WHS because it isn't curable or avoidable if they are going to get it. It does take quite a bit but after the initial investment, it's basically upkeep like any animal. We didn't even use regular bedding, we litter trained her so she used a litter box in the corner of the cage and used a blanket to line her cage and just pulled it out and washed it every so often. Toys aren't hard the most common are little plastic easter eggs and unglued toilet paper rolls. They do require a lot of handling if you want them to be comfortable and have less rolling up and poking. We handled ours a lot and even the little munchkins ages 3-5 had no problem holding her.
