anyone have any tips on this? we got my daughter a book & if i sit down with her to read she'll be good but when i leave her alone with the book she ripped out pages. im so mad cus i want her to take care of her stuff but she doesnt seem to care. i have more books even flashcards but i haven't given them to her for this same exact reason. 😕

I don’t give them to my daughter alone unless I don’t care about them being torn up. I think it’s really just a kid thing. I keep all of her nice brand new books up high that she can’t reach them and the cardboard or old ones down low that she can reach.
And I keep all flash cards up because she’s destroyed a whole pack

I don’t let my son have books with paper pages than can be ripped when I’m not around. We have tons of board books he can look at on his own. It’s normal for little kids to rip pages, that’s why board books exist. 😊

@santistevanmommie, same! Get sturdy hard books for her to play with independently and wait till she’s older to play with the rest on her own.

She’s way too young to understand how to properly use a book, so for now just get board books and read them with her. My daughter is 3.5 and still uses board books. Recently she wanted to read one of daddy’s magazines and she gave herself a paper cut, so we try to stick to board books as much as possible.
