Yes 36+is safe to deliver.

I was born at 36 weeks bkz my mom needed to get a surgery done ASAP or it would harm her and me !

@katt82, yeah she wouldn’t deliver earlier than that unless either of your lives were in danger. But she’s just doing it as soon as possible but as safe as possible and 36 weeks is safe. Maybe a couple of days in NICU but nothing serious

It’s not ideal, but given the situation, they have to do what’s best for you and baby.

It sounds like this is your best option. More than likely, baby will be healthy.

@mrschanandlerbong95, yea that’s what she told me but it was still like umm yea seeing as I’m a ftm I wasn’t sure and really wasn’t thinking to ask any questions 😰

My first was born 36wks2days via emergency c section and he was still 8lbs 10oz! Slightly jaundice but no NICU time here

@katt82 Well it is very suprising he was that big! Big and healthy. Big is good and even better if c section. You don't have to push out that giant head. My son was huuuuge.

It’s not ideal and not ok in most circumstances. In yours it appears the benefits outweigh the risks. 36 weeks is still a preemie though. I’d take a tour of your NICU just in case and read up on 36 weekers.

@laniejay, yea my tour for the hospital is next month on the 16th will look into it ty

37wks is considered full term but even if there is a little complication it shouldn’t be much. The baby should be ready and I feel like the doc knows best since you can’t go into labor.

37 weeks is term, 40 is full term. I'm literally in the same situation, delivering at 36 weeks due to surgery I've had. Best of luck to you, mama. ❤
