Guess what!! I'm from West Virginia... No i'm not talking about the state of Virginia, West Virginia…

Here in Central Florida, having all your teeth can make people think you're a celebrity. Also, we are not all bat shit crazy, but the Dumbshine State news stories are very entertaining!

@sassybitch most people don't even know that West Virginia is its own state. They call us dumb hillbillies but they don't know their states lol

@wvgirl I totally get it. I'm originally from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Most people think that chunk of land is part of Canada or Wisconsin. People who live in Michigan still tease about whether or not there's electricity or phone service. I used to actually have to go through an operator to make a long distance call! The county I grew up in still has no traffic lights.

@sassybitch i guess if you don't live in the city, you're considered a dumb redneck lol most people would be surprised if they actually came to WV. Once upon a time yeah there wasn't much but i can drive 5 minutes from my house and be at a mall, sheetz, restaurants, stores. Lol

@wvgirl The U.P. is still slow and sleepy. Most towns are actually getting smaller and turning into ghost towns. It's sad that they are trying to preserve the beauty of the land, but the economy is suffering tremendously because there's no growth. Michigan's Constitution has declared the region National Forest, so it can't ever be touched.

@sassybitch the town where my husband grew up is considered a ghost town now but one town that was on its way to being nothing had the summit betchel reserve put in and it brings thousands of people every year. Next year it will bring millions because of the world boy scout jamboree.

@sassybitch lol i know the boys will be in tents at the reserve but as for their families and volunteers and employees, i have no idea how this area will accommodate that many people. I worked the first jamboree which was the national one and all of the motels in this area and surrounding counties was completely full and the traffic was unbelievable. Now next year there are going to be people from other countries not just other states. Lol

@wvgirl My little town of 2,500 used to put on a car show that would draw 200,000 people! But they cracked down on the shenanigans, so now it's only a fraction of that crowd.

@sassybitch next year i'm going to try my best to volunteer at the world jamboree, i know it would be an awesome experience.
