Once again Johnson & Johnson products are being sued for the HORRIBLE ingredients found in their products... this is for their baby powder linked to cancer. PLEASE just ban this company already! 😡
@depp100, so frustrating. A lot of the smaller natural brands are being bought out and the options for good products are getting smaller by the day 😔
Sadly Burt’s bees was taken over by another company... you can really see the difference😒
@laniejay You may be right when it comes to their other general products, but when it comes to their powder specifically which is all I use from them product wise (other than their organic clothes) it ONLY contains natural every day ingredients and is pediatrician tested. It literally only contains baking powder, cornstarch, natural clay, flower essence and natural fragrance. I'm careful with what we use and how we use it.
@simplyshantell, any fine particle powder- not just talc. Cancer is not the only concern. I’ve done my research as well. I have a child with CLD, I protect his lungs (well everything but lungs are what we are talking about). As I stated, it’s virtually impossible to not release particles into the air.
Ever since Burt’s was bought out, the quality of ingredients has suffered.
@laniejay Talc is actually what mainly produces the fiber particles that irritate a babies lungs when breathed in, but like ANY small particle or dust, it's not good to breathe any of it in. That is common sense. Note that I said I put a tiny bit on my hands first, then gently rub in whatever area you are using it in. Talc based powders are the ONLY baby powders found to be associated with cancer (btw, only ovarian cancer) but it's never been proven. I've actually done my homework into the products I use on my son, I've looked up every individual ingredient in burts bees baby powder (its not a long list) and they are all safe with no links to anything harmful. If you use it correctly, and you use a natural product, it is in fact safe. The OP is mentioning Johnson and Johnson, and I dont use any of their products.
Nope just big on people taking responsibility for the choices they make willingly. Nobody was forced to use the company’s products nobody was denied the information on what’s in the products nobody was denied the information on what those ingredients can potentially cause. But bunch of sue happy cry babies want to blame the company for their choices its stupidity at its finest
@iwannaplay, are you in the Johnson family. You’re quite bothered by this.
@simplyshantell, Burt’sbees isn’t as good as you think. You should look into that... also inhalation of any fine powder is dangerous for babies, not just talc. It’s virtually impossible not to have the particles of airborne. It adheres to the sticky lung tissue and can cause pneumonia, scar tissue and worse.
@depp100, that’s the thing that information is available. Number one thing people should be doing is looking at the ingredients in something if you don’t know what an ingredient is look it up figure out what you are putting on and in your body. If you look at each ingredient the information is available about what potential issues it can cause. I know this because I know what I put on and in my body. Nobody is keeping it a secret people just aren’t taking the time to educate themselves
I don’t feel like writing an essay right now but what I’m trying to get across is company’s really need to put out what the effects will outcome if they’re putting these kind of ingredients in there products it needs to say...may cause cancer or whatever just like it says on yoga mats!!!! Yes some yoga mats cause cancer and it even advertises it... so if that is on the product yes then I would say you’re correct.
Even when I had my first child (3.5 years ago) it was recommended NOT to use baby powder. At this point, if you’re still using it, you either don’t care or are just ignorant
@depp100 There are options out there that are cornstarch based and all natural ingredients. It is used to control moisture in areas that are prone to yeast/chafing which can cause infection. Babies have a lot of folds that are hard to dry 100%, especially if they sweat a lot in the summer, but you'll mainly see it being used after a shower or bath, and only in areas where moisture is retained to ensure baby is fresh and the area is clean and dry. To avoid any inhalation risk (which is only dangerous if it contains talc) but regardless, I pour a tiny bit on my hands and then put in the potentially wet areas (neck folds, legs, little feet to keep them smelling fresh and dry between the toes) and only after a bath or shower. Burts bees brand is the brand im alking about.. its completely safe when utilized that way, not to mention baby is then more comfortable, smelling good and staying clean. I only would ever use that brand though.. A lot of other brands contain the chemicals everyone's talking about. Why knowingly expose your children to something that can potentially be such a huge health risk?(not talking to you directly, obv). That's crazy. I never buy Johnson Johnson just because it's in my control not to. There are certain things we can control and certain things we cannot, and buying safe products is something that we can all control.
Not blame but accepting responsibility for the fact that they were unwilling to know what they were using. Buying and using a product is a choice if you’re willing to use something on your body without knowing what’s in it or the possible outcomes of using that product that’s on you the consumer.
@depp100, so Johnson’s baby powder is the only thing that they all have in common huh? Yeah right not buying it. Plus cancer is the body messing up so yeah a ton of people will have the same cancers but that doesn’t mean the cancer was caused by the same thing. Every single thing on the face of the earth can cause cancer and truthfully it’s more likely that the toxins we put into the air from cars and factories plus artificial dyes in clothing. Not to mention that the majority of the population is too damn lazy to wash new clothing before wearing that’s causing the problems we have with cancer
@iwannaplay, I personally do, but It’s easy to be duped. There’s so much marketing play out there and government loopholes to allow these companies to do these things. Blame should not all be placed on the consumer.
And questions get answers all of the information is Available it’s just a matter of getting it if you don’t that’s on you @laniejay,
@iwannaplay, unfortunately they’re not always listed. They have ways around things. “Fragrance” for example. So many toxic chemicals are hidden in products that only have to be labeled “fragrance”. It’s very easy for these companies to fool the average consumer.
Lol girl I don’t buy their products. Ever since I had a child and started caring what I put into my body and actually looking at the ingredients like you said. So it’s not hard to give up on companies that only care about money. 🤗 but you’re right in the sense were you can’t detect were these diseases as cancer comes from but this certain type of cancer did come from that... because many people had they SAME EXACT PROBLEM and used the SAME EXACT PRODUCT. But hey I’m just trying to educate some people so they won’t use this shit.
@depp100, not a single one of those people can say what caused them to get cancer not one. That’s what I’m saying and here they are blaming a company for their choice to use the products over their lifetime without ever even finding out what the ingredients are because for whatever reason people are too damn lazy to actually know what they’re using they’d rather sue like a bunch of cry babies
Not a single person knows what single thing they come into contact with during their lifetime will trigger the body to form cancer cells. Not one person can even prove what caused their cancer. Not one can pin point it. But hey let’s just sue because it’s easier than accepting that bad shit happens because of choices we make. Not one company is forcing anyone to buy their products but hey if y’all want to blame Johnson’s then stop using every product they make or have a part in making I’d bet you couldn’t.
Lol welp that’s why everyone keeps getting cancer because no one gives a damn! It’s either you should of known or oops we didn’t know it would do that... so it’s your fault! That’s what I’m trying to say, this stuff needs more attention because if it just gets by every time everyone is going to be sick by that time.
Every single ingredient is listed on packaging if you don’t know what you’re using on yourself that’s your bad the company gave you the information. And I promise you that no it wasn’t only Johnson’s that these people used over a life time. And no the hell i wouldn’t because if I get cancer from something I willingly used that’s my fault it’s called personal responsibility.
@iwannaplay, you shouldn’t be selling products with those kinds of ingredients and it’s not just baby powder, most of the products they sell have some ingredients that causes cancer and I’m pretty sure it was just this exact baby powder people were using.
And responsibility?? Lol these companies need to take more damn responsibility before they put out products making babies and people sick... I’m sorry but if you got cancer from a product you trusted, I’m sure you would sue them as well. But that’s just my opinion.
Johnson’s got sued because they’re big nobody knows if baby powder used years ago caused cancer. Plus nobody has ever been forced to use it their entire lives. People need to take responsibility for their part in getting sick
@raquely, yes Aveeno is the same bullshit! It’s so sad because I still see so many people buying it, not even knowing.
@kelley.blue, their lotion was also on a lawsuit... all their products are just crap.
@depp100, I end up making a lot, but ain’t nobody got time for that
