I'm pretty sure you're supposed take them if their temp gets over 104 if they're over the age of 1. But I would call your pediatrician or nurse line to know for sure.

Call the doctor and ask how much medicine he can take. When my son had a high fever and tylenol/motrin weren't keeping it down, we too him to the doctor and she said that his weight meant he could have 6.25mg, not the 5mg listed on the bottle. That worked.

But yes, his doctor said we shouldn't worry about a fever unless it's over 104 or lasts for more than 3 days. Or of course if he's acting really lethargic or something.

Oh, or to call if medicine isn't bringing it down! Which is why we brought him in on the second day of his fever.

Good. I hope he's okay! My son wound up having roseola that time, which is just days of a sudden high fever (103+) followed by a rash. His temp didn't go below 102 for two days. Finally went down to 101 when we increased the dosage. I didn't sleep for four days, haha.

@nomli, he was doing good for about 4 hours just running and playing and eating but at 8 the fever hit him again and it’s back to 102 I gave him his night time milk and he puked two times 😣 I just gave him Motrin and he’s sleeping now but he’s still pretty warm 😣😣😣😣

😔 that stinks. I hope he's better soon.
