Girls i am only 25 weeks and today doctor said i have very short cervix 2,4 cm.she really scared me…

My friend had this she was pregnant with twins so was put on immediate bed rest in the hospital. It was years ago so I’m not positive on how small her cervix was but I’m sure it was smaller then yours. She got super bored in the hospital and they released her to bed rest at home after a couple months and she went into labor days later and had her babies at 26 weeks, in my opinion she went home and did way too much. Again her case was more severe she was put on bed rest at I want to say 14 weeks. Just make sure your not doing too much, get lots of rest and if you feel anything is off get checked ASAP. Also the fact that you are already 25 weeks is good baby is at the viable stage even if you were to go into labor prematurely. Goodluck I’m sure everything will be fine!

Did they give you a pessary? You’re too far along for a cerclage, but they can do a pessary. 2.4 isn’t great, but it isn’t terrible either. My MFM won’t order bedrest in most circumstances as there’s conflicting research as to if it hurts more than it helps, but she did say not to over exert. Will they be monitoring your cervical length going forward?

The doctor said its too late pessary also((( ill double check wz her again . Yes she said they will monitor it.im so worred(

@vikafeb, are you seeing an MFM? Good thing is you’re not funneled or having contractions. The cervix is a muscle that can lengthen and shorten. It’s not uncommon. My MFM said that she’s seen women with less than 1 carry to term. Have faith 🤞🏼
