So just a quick question for you ladies whom already have had babies. How hard is it to get anything done with a newborn? I'm talking housework and normal daily things. Is it near impossible? Or easier than you thought? I'd love to know! Thanks 🤗
Yes! They sleep a lot!!! So you can do house work and find time to take naps.
Every baby is different, but my daughter went through a period where she would not let me put her down AT ALL. So there were days I couldn't even shower and I also have other children so that made it more difficult. She'll be 8 weeks on Friday and I am able to put her down more often than before. So for me it was really hard to get anything done at first, but I also didn't have any help.
@jleona, It it much more difficult with other children. I agree. But I believe this is her 1st baby so she won’t have to do anything else but tend to her and the house. Once you add one or two more to the mix then it becomes a little overwhelming. And have you tried babywearing? So she is close but you can actually use your hands. It’s helped me a lot with my last two.
@bigmama18 true, but even with my kids going to camp for a few hours my daughter only wanted to sleep in my arms so hopefully it won't be that hard for her. I actually started trying to babywear but it seems like I can't ever get it tight enough to avoid it from sliding down 😭 I was thinking abt getting a different one.
@jleona, if you post a picture I’m sure someone on here can help you get it just right. Or you can get another one lol.
It wasn't that hard, but the day would go so fast so that I would get less done than I wanted. He was up every two hours to eat, and then with pumping I'd lose another 45 minutes, so I'd have an hour here and an hour there to get stuff done. And since I couldn't really lift for a few weeks laundry built up.
By the time I healed he was sleeping more anyway, so I was able to get more done.
With just one baby not bad cause newborns sleeps so much. Not going to lie the first two weeks I didn’t do a lot because I felt awful. But I did have c section

near impossible. If your baby is like mine she wanted to be with me all the time and i breastfed her so thats a loooong time too. my best advise is wear your baby. buy a baby carrier (wrap,sling anything that works with you. My fav was wildbird ring sling)
honestly for me the first 3 weeks were super hard with my first. I know people say its easy and i hope it is for you but be prepared in case it isnt. It DOES get better though. But if i were you, plan on resting and not doing much around the house for 2-3 weeks at least...its better for you to heal faster too! try to get as much help as you can. This time around apart from my husband being home 3 weeks i hired someone to help deep clean once a week while i can't do it- my husband can clean but if you are like me (im a clean freak) i like things to be deep cleaned once a week. Thankfully i have no complaints about my husbands cooking cause he does most of the cooking everyday anyways cause he likes it but yeah it wasnt easy for me. Breastfeeding is def also not easy
@jleona, def try different ones! i found one that i love and i cant wait to wear my baby :) so cuddly
Just need to get to know your baby, once baby is on a schedule you can clean while baby naps. Don’t expect your house to be spotless for about a month once baby arrives. Have someone come help you if they can. My SO usually takes a week off from work to help me with house chores, and cooking. Take it day by day and don’t stress mama😘
I have a newborn and a toddler and it started off impossible due to hubby's work schedule...both kids crying, newborn doesn't wanna be put down and toddler is into everything. But like others said, you will find a routine and learn what works for you and the best time for it..
It was impossible for me. Every baby is different and every mama is different though. I was pumping every 3 hours for the first 8 weeks so I had to sleep when baby slept. The newborn stage was my biggest struggle. It got so much easier as my son got older.
I agree with @zionandbellasmama, I’ve had two kids and the newborn stage has always been very easy and manageable for me.
