So ladies I have a question what does insurance do after your car it totaled and how long does it take for them to do what they need to do after you call?? I have never wrecked a car and my husband was in an accident today and totaled my car so i dont know the step in till i call tomorrow morning and see what all i need to do. Just trying to see what i will be dealing with tomorrow and then trying to see if we will able to get a new car or will i have to wait because all the bills i will have.

It can take days or months just depends. The best source of information is going to be your adjuster. The last accident I was part of took almost a year for the insurance company to figure it out

@iwannaplay crap i was worry about that. Hopefully its nice and easy and the car people i got my car from are nice and help me out my mom said they have in the past and they are a family own company so fingers crossed because that was the one car we were using right now because my husband car eat gas like no tomorrow and need new tires and they are like 500 for 2 and i think he need all 4 and then i cant remember if something els need to be fixed.

The insurance company sent someone to the tow yard to examine my car the day after my accident. They determined it was totaled on the spot and I received a check for the value within a week or so. I also had rental coverage and my policy covered a rental car for two weeks while I looked for a new car.

@iwannaplay these big ass once that he like that normally go for more but he was able to get them cheap at this new place they are not regular tires. Lol so i cant really say anything because it is his car and he doesn't tell me what to do with my car unless it need it.

@ek620 okay. My husband said it was totaled because the brakes did not work it would not going to gear or turn on and he had to tell the tow truck guy I was trying to put it in gear and that it would not even go. I'll be calling them in the morning with my husband.

@ek620 I think that's what my husband has that and the off-roading ones too but they're like way bigger then the car needs but that is his thing. Lol

Hopefully they total it. My husband does auto body and paint and he says a lot of the time they will just fix it because it’s less paper work. They never run the same after a accident.

@dinamarie1995 my husband works on Cars 2 and he said it's totaled. That the best i can give you with out my license plates being in the picture.
