What are some good questions to ask during a hospital tour? I’m having mine on Wednesday ☺

"How do they handle emergencies?" During our tour a woman in labor had a uterine prolapse and we got to see how the nurses handled a call like that. (Not personally, of course, we had to wait for someone else to lead the tour, but we got to see how they responded to an emergency. They were very calm while still being urgent.)

What is their protocol for bathing babies? Do they do delayed bathing?

Where do they do their testing- do they take babies to the nursery or in room?

Do they have IBCLCs on staff all the time?

Do they have CPSTs on staff?

What level nursery? How do they handle emergencies with babies?

Do they push c section fast if you are laboring slower then normal a lot of hospitals do. Do they have s low infection rate if you do have c section. I asked because some hospitals have really high infection rates. The hospital I had my c section at is the lowest in Sacramento.
