@memybumpandi, thank you for all the good ideas! I just found out on Friday that I have it and I’m still waiting to see the nutritionist and all that. For now I’m just trying to eat lots of veggies and small healthy/low carb meals. The hardest thing for me has been to cut out cereal 😩

How often are you checking your blood? I had to check every two hours.

Be careful with your sugar intake because they’ll put you on meds. I personally hate meds.

Sweet treats, greek yoghurt with fruits, mango, banana pineapple. Snack on apples, watermelons are awesome sweet and 96% water!! Raw nuts BUT NOT dried fruit!

Good quality ice cream, but control your portions.

Yeah, controlled it with diet. Discharged now. But I still keep an eye on it until bubs is here.

I ate pretty normally, bread was the devil so swapped that for oat cakes. Cut out full fat milk and stuck to almond or skimmed.

And ate small portions of rice and pasta etc.

I noticed as got further along I could eat anything! Which was great!!

My fav breakfast was feta, spinach and parma ham omelettes.

Fav lunch big juicy salads with parma ham or chicken.

Fav dinners rice and black eyed beans and chicken.

I would advise to always have veg with every meal and to eat slowly so you body has time to process the food. Also lots of water.

I don’t have gd but I know if you’re looking for carbs that are good for sustaining your blood sugar levels, brown rice and sweet potatoes. Snack wise I would think just healthy stuff? Veggies with hummus, string cheese, pb, some fruits (berries are lower in sugar).. maybe someone that actually has GD can pop in and help you out. 😂😂😂
