Thinking about quitting my 7;30-4pm lausd job to go to a trade tech school to become a rn while working part time as a server or bartender.
I need opinions or advice from anyone who’s done this?
I use to serve and made good money for only working 5-6 hours. Right now I’m leaving my house by 6;30am with both kids and dropping them off daycare, and I don’t get back home until 5pm

Achieve them goals it will def pay off I have a couple of friends doing rn they told be there is no time for work if i could do the same I sure would I always wanted to be a rn or lpn but with no sitter it’s impossible for me

Is becoming an rn something you've always wanted to do? How are RN hours? Would you have help with taking and picking up the kids at daycare?

@adams2017, @mamajes, my mother in law is going to start taking care of the kids in September, because my son is having issues at daycare. I would cut my cost of daycare from 800 a month to only 400$ I would go to school full time in the day and then work part time at night 4-5 days a week

Are you ok with other people’s blood, urine, feces? Dealing with uncooperative patients, family and taking orders?
I feel like some people just don’t know what they are getting in to.

I haven’t done it yet but in a few months I am quitting my job to become a full time student. I’ve been working and doing school but I’m not going at the pace I’d like . Honestly I just need to hustle and get my degree , I know the sacrifice is going to pay off afterwards .

@domsmama96, that’s how I feel. I feel like I need to hurry and step it up right now that my kids are young and won’t remember me being gone at school.

@mumstasin then do it. I’ve heard people say “ what did I get myself in to” maybe thinking that it was going to be a case management job.

@mumstasin it sounds like you've got this planned out! Which is great!! If you can do it, do it! I'm sure it will be tough leaving the little ones for long periods of time though 😔

@mamajes, I’m a current working mom so I leave the house at 630am and drop the off at daycare at 7:15am and I don’t get home until 5pm. I already don’t see them so much during the work week
