Should I buy bumper pad for crib for my newborn? Or when I’m going to need it?
I didn’t have one, but after she started sleeping in it as she got older she would always put her legs thru. I will probably get one. As long as it’s secure seems fine TO ME.
You don’t need one! The only time one is needed is typically when baby gets older, their legs fatter and they decide to squeeze their legs through the crib and get stuck. Then get one, but most don’t even get to that point.
@thepaige16 I don't think hitting her head can compare to suffocation tho?
Well, it's worse to suffocate then get a little bump from rolling into the crib slat. I'd go with mesh bumpers if you are concerned about that, at least they let in air flow.
I used a regular bumper since day 1 and thankfully I had it. My baby girl is always rolling over and banging her head on the side of the crib. If it wasn’t for the bumper, she’d get hurt
Most people don’t get them bkz they are afraid their baby cn suffocate with it . Which is a good reason not to get those but if u get a mesh one the bby will be fine and he won’t get caught in between the cracks either !!
Honestly I've ended up using my paknplay instead of the crib because of the safety issue of bumper pads not being safe.
We needed one because my son would hit his head squirming around or get his leg stuck between the bars. It really was a life saver for us so I say yes
