Haven’t been on in some time but just need to get things off my chest; I was told by a counselor in college that it would be hard to “work full time & be a full time student” he also said that after my first semester it was pick or choose because it’s can be impossible for me to focus on both - he doesn’t know I have a daughter.
Ive been debating what he told me & im not sure what to do because if it’s so “hard” to be both imagine being a FT worker, student, & MOM?! I would love to accomplish this without giving up on one or the other but I’m indecisive & don’t know what else to think. I became a FT employee working 9-5 & leaving my daughter home 5 days out of the week w. My mom, getting home just to do my daily activities with Soriah but now to actually go from work, to school and being unsure of when I will be able to spend time with my her is what’s killing me. She motivates me to do better & get things done but this is just something that is making me confused.

@haslberry, that’s true as well, I just don’t want to drag school for another year or more

Personally I would work full time and take a class or two per semester, including summer. For me online classes were more time consuming because of all of the reading to teach yourself the material on top of the homework, but it was more convenient for some classes.

I think if your resume shows you are pursuing your degree with an anticipated graduation date, you would still be considered.

@lifeisgood2me, i plan on going to school to be a physician assistant they told me it’ll take 3 years to get my bachelors as a full time student and I work to pay off the car I need for work and a few other small bills (car is a main one but I’m trying to get out of it) with this program I might be able to do online classes but a lot of the courses are BIO or CHEM and I’m not good for online classes when it comes to those types of courses

I have a couple questions before I could give advice. Are you going to school to pursue a career you're passionate about or just to get a job making more money? Do you have to work in order to pay Bills or are you choosing to work bc you want to? And is online school an option for you or even part time school?

It can be done but it will be HARD.

I think working full time and maybe school part time will be good. It might take longer but at least you'll have time for your baby girl
