i was able to board with my friends daughter with just a letter signed by her mom and her passport

@jaimarie, a passport ? He doesn’t have one !! Umm I’ll right a letter and I’ll give my sister his SSC and hopefully that’s enough .

I've never needed anything but their flight ticket when traveling with my kids. The last time I've flown with them was about 1 year ago, have rules changed now since then?

@carmalyssh, I just called the airlines and they said that he would be fine they only check if your over 18 or if the kid is leaving the country

I was actually super surprised at how unconcerned airlines and even customs were on checking my kids when we travelled to Australia recently. On the way there and back we stopped in the USA, mind you I am white, my children are mixed and none have my last name. Not one person in Canada, USA or Australia asked for any type of proof that they were my children, actually they didn’t even ask how we were related. Nobody even asked for proof of having their fathers permission to take them out of the country. I obviously had their passports but I was expecting some questions and to have to provide some sort of supporting documentation.

@mimixtmn, yea I was surprised when I called them and they said that my son didn’t need anything considering I’m not even going nor his father . That’s kinda weird lol but it’s works for me in this situation. Cause he’s going to Disney world with the family and I would hate for him to miss it
