My children were never like that but i think if daddy is sure to have as much bonding time with baby as possible that it will change. I've noticed that children are usually closer to the person/people that take care of their basic needs like feedings, diaper changes, putting them to bed, play, responding to their cries, etc. Maybe try having daddy do these things more frequently. It takes time though. Good luck.

I agree with @lifeisgood2me I believe children are closer to whoever caters more to their basic needs. My daughter is a total daddy's girl because he is who takes care of her the most feeding, playing, diaper changes, bedtime, etc. She doesn't cry with me at all, but she definitely has a different relationship with me than with her dad.

@emily526 @lifeisgood2me Thank you ladies! He plays with him every day but he certainly doesn't change diapers or bathe him. We'll try that!

My husband did more skin-to-skin with baby than I did (I think) in the first few weeks and baby just adores him. Hubby also changes diapers a lot and thats when baby loves to make eye contact and becomes playful.

It was this way for me too for about 5-6 mos... Then all of a sudden she wanted her dad more and more and I could see the bond forming... She's still soo small, it's normal for her to take some time to warm up.. It's a mom thing... No worries. 😊🤗

Opposite. Is fine with most people, can can't stand MIL. Probably because she's always yelling and giving me anxiety, but that's just my theory lol
