Just curious: Can you draw unemployment if you were fired on your 3rd day of orientation? Technically my brother was on the clock cause he was getting paid for orientation and this morning the car battery was dead so he had to catch a ride from a friend and went to call and say that he was gonna be 10 mins late to the class and they told him don't worry about it cause he is terminated... This is my old job that he was trying back at again. Idk why they got so strict over the years. Smfh

Most places have a probationary period before they need rightful cause to terminate, unless it’s a state that can fire you for no reason at any time. Have him check his hire paperwork

Yeah I doubt he'd get unemployment for that. Honestly it'd be insane if he did. Even though it's not his fault his car battery died that's not the jobs fault either. They expect him to be there. Usually places have a strict policy on attendance when you're first hired. 🤷

They wasn't this strict when I first got a job there. They was always letting people walk in late. Especially if they knew people out there. They've gotten really strict over the year

Unemployment is based on the amount of time you've worked generally within a calendar year or something like that. So, if he's had other jobs recently, I would try but support the claim based on the most current job terminating him.
