No one to come stay with your son?

@sarah.s, no all of my family is an 8 hour minimum drive away, and no one can really afford to take a week or so off of work since we don’t know when the baby will get here. We already pay $1200 a month in daycare and we can’t afford an emergency babysitter.

What about a friend?

@sarah.s, I have one friend that will watch him, but I don’t know how my son will behave for her. I didn’t want to be a burden, so I was just going to go at it alone.

If you have a friend that will do it then do a “test run” and see how he does with her. Also he can be at the hospital with you for a while until labor really gets hard and then she could get him.

You are just 26 weeks. Hire someone- you have enough to interview and get tons of references! Another option is talking to his daycare, one of them might do special off hour care in there home or yours- you never know till you ask! Or pay that one friend that you mentioned. I’m sure she will be over the moon to simply help her. Spoil her too, leave her money for pizza and even offer to let her sleep in your bed.

Test run is a great idea. Have her come over maybe once a week or something just to play with your son.

I went through having our 1st child alone, it honestly wasn't that bad. I have no complaints about it other than it just makes me a little sad that my husband didn't get to experience it with me. I may also end up having our 2nd alone because we're having the same issue.
