Just thinking about my experience with the nurse who helped deliver last time - she was incredible, especially afterwards. The Birthing experience exposes so much vulnerability! And, as elated as I was, I was tired and felt yucky and stressed because they removed my baby while trying to raise his blood sugar. My husband went along with. She helped me walk, clean up and talked to me the whole time I waited.
What kind of experience(s) have you had with Labor/Delivery Nurses?

Not great ones. Which is part of the reasons why I have homebirths

My original OB was not on call and so was not at the hospital. I had asked them to call her but they didn’t. The OB who was there was in and out of my room in less than a minute. He told me I was fine, but something felt off. I had stopped dilating but my contractions got worse. My dad, who’s a nurse up there had them call in another OB who lived in town and as soon as she checked me she told me my daughters head was hyperextended backwards and I was at risk. My labor was a total of 36 hours, and she said had I given birth naturally my daughter would not have made it. I had an emergency c-section but after that the nurses took great care of both her and I. I’m hoping this next delivery goes much more smoothly

I had a nurse that was with me every day from my csection through the last day I was at the hospital. She helped me through the spinal as I was crying and struggling to get through as they poked me for the 5th time. She was amazing rubbing my back and talking me through it. She was even the one to get my pain under control afterwards. She was amazing!

My labour and delivery with my ds was really good. I gave birth to him in my home town and all the nurses knew me because of my mother. So at one stage I had three midwives in the room preparing me and the main midwife for the delivery. I couldn't lay on my back any longer after the midwife checked my dilation so they got me to roll on all fours. One midwife massage my back through the last 2cm of my labour and for a little while, while I was pushing. The same nurse went and got a cold wet towel and put it across the back of my neck cause I was really hot. Before I knew it ds was there. The same midwife, my partner and my mother all helped my turn around so I could do skin to skin with my son. It was definitely a beautiful moment for my first

When I had my daughter I had such lovely nurses who were incredibly caring and talking to me and helped me get cleaned up & would take the baby for me so I could rest since I went through a lot after having my csection and had to have a blood transfusion. Also one nurse decided to draw a picture of
My sweet girl so I could put it in a baby book and tell her about it someday she was a sweetheart❤️❤️
