@jaylauren1714, it’s a bit like being drunk? Made me sleepy and not care about the pain so much. I’ve had it with all of mine (I’ve had most of the drugs they offer!!). Can make some people sick though. x
@jaylauren1714 I had diamorphine and I would never have it again. It's an opiate like pethadine and it made me drowsy, I fell asleep and woke up a little when I had a contraction. It slowed my labour down and when it wore off it was like having to start from scratch. x
I had 2 injections of pethadine and it didn't make me tired. Just felt spaced out. It was after it had worn off that I felt like I had a bit of a hangover. Helped with the pain though :) I always said i didn't want an epidural so I tried that. Had that common quote of "it's too late for an epidural now, just push!" Lol
I’ve had it 5 times in all my last 5 labours I swear by it and has and air does make me sick sometimes and a little sleepy took most of the edge off my contractions and then the gas took the rest off x
I did and they only agreed to give it to me beacaue I wasnt anywhere near pushing.10 mins after they gave it to me i started pushing and 2 hours later i was still pushing. He was bluey/grey not breathing when he came out I don't know if that because he's shoulder was stuck and he's head was out or too do with the pethadine but I wouldn't have it again didn't help the pain just felt like I was on drugs and made me want to fall asleep every 2 mins x

I did, I just slept and woke up slightly for contractions. It wares off after 4 hours and you aren’t allowed it more than 3 times

I did. It was crap, just spaced me right out And didn't take the pain away. Oh and it made me puke despite being gave the antisickness with it.
