Having my son is supposed to be a happy exciting time in my life but instead I'm stressed so bad because my oldest daughters dad is taking me to court for custody. The sad part is she wants to stay with me but he has her for his 4 week summer visit and has cut all contact with me I've not heard from her in 5 days. I know he's filling her head with so much stuff I feel so bad for her I just sit in bed all night crying. I've always had custody of her and she's well taken care of she has two little sisters and a new baby brother I'm sure a judge wont take her from her siblings but im still stressed because legal aid cant help with a lawyer and I can't afford one! I'm so ready to get this over with and have her home!

@laniejay i have a bunch of stuff saved and people willing to come to court to say I'm a good mom and have always treated her hair.
There has to be substantive change or proof of you being unfit in order to change your current custody agreement. Lice is not a reason. Especially if you treated it. Document that you have tried to make contact and he is refusing. Text, email, something concrete.
@lilsweetlady619 thank you. I've been through this before and didn't have a lawyer and got to keep her. Hopefully it works out again.
I've been in that position. Mines had a lawyer.. I didnt I represented myself and I still have custody of my kids. #family dont give up and dont let fear of losing her take u down that's how it was for me till I knew there was nothing to be afraid of because I knew I'm a good mom..

I have a home, two nice vehicles, she has her own room, we have food and cable and live on a farm we have everything she needs! I hope a judge wouldn't take her from her siblings. Her brother will be two weeks old tomorrow and shes only spent one day with him because she's been with her dad. The weekend i was in the hospital my daughter told me that her dad took her to Kentucky for a 4th of july party and drove back to ohio drunk with her in the car. I didn't find out until days later but i want to bring it up in court because thats not ok but i have no proof just her saying so. I don't know what to do.
I know it's stupid. I asked for our child support to be reviewed and a couple weeks later I was served with custody papers i honestly think he's just trying to get out of paying more support and using head lice as an excuse to go for custody.
That's stupid. You can get lice from brush sharing. I wouldn't worry too much about it going his way
He's done this before and didn't win this time his reasons is she got head lice a couple times throughout the school year so he's trying to get me for neglect.
So sorry your going through this it isn’t easy for a dad to gain custody of the mom already has her at least here in MI it isn’t
He can get in trouble for not answering if call for a wellness check since he want to be childish I’d go insane if I didn’t hear from my child
