Hi. Today I found out that after my one hour glucose test that my level was 221 which means I have gestational diabeties and I am about 28 weeks pregnant. Does this affect my baby in the long term in any way and also does this mean I will have diabeties for the rest of my life. Any women on here have gestational diabeties during pregnancy and what was your experience. Please let me know. Thanks.

Look up keto diet...no potatoes/pasta/bread/ sweets..just make sure you eat lots of fruit (even though some would be off the list on keto) and veggies and drink a lot of water.

@kyliejade, thanks a lot for your advice. What is a low carb diet for you during pregnancy if you don’t mind letting me know. Thanks so much for your help?

I have had gd with all 3 of my kids but it goes away immediately. None of my kids have had problems, either. Follow a low carb diet, and you will do great. I have never gained more than 14 pounds during pregnancy following it.
