ATTN MOMMAS OF SUMMER BABIES‼️‼️‼️‼️
I need some help ladies. My first daughter was a fall baby (the end of September) and i stay in Ohio so by that time the weather has already dropped to a chill 70-60 degrees and i pretty much kept her bundled up. However this time around I have a summer baby and idk what to do😩how do i dress a NEWBORN in 70-80 degree weather? Any suggestions? I packed a little bit of everything for when we leave the hospital plus we have AC in the car😭😭i dont want her to be cold but i dont want her to be sweating pls hlp summer mommas😭😩

@damnkmar, I felt the same way until his doctor was like why do you have so many clothes on him after he explained I was like oh that makes sense. He said if your hot the baby is hot if your cold the baby would be cold that’s how you judge. Hey he’s 7 now and he didn’t get sick much as a baby so I’m guessing the doc was right

I hope I don’t get crucified for this but my pediatrician told me to dress them how you would dress yourself that babies experience weather the way we do. He told me that because at my sons first check up I over dressed him lol. My mom always said that he would be sensitive to any cool air but it was the end of August and hot.

@damnkmar, the first few day I recommended always keeping socks on her if she gets red take them off and feel her feet with the back of your hand

Pay attention to her body always feel her feet, they are a dead give away if your baby is cold. And if she gets hiccups that means she might be cold aswell. Just take it day by day and play it by ear. I had my baby and was hit with a heatwave two weeks in its tough but it gets easier to tell

I have mostly onsies and super light pjs for my son. I’m going to put him in pjs and little pants and stuff in the hospital but coming home, probably a cute little onsie and a receiving blanket.

Now that’s lucky hahah, in the winter maybe it gets to 32 degrees that’s on a cold day, during the day it usually stays between 50-60 and that’s only in like January, it’s not a brutal winter like y’alls

@damnkmar, lmao pretty much and I’m sure it got hotter that year. My son was a premie so he didn’t fit in any of his clothes, he mostly just stayed in a diaper, unless we went out and about

always pack her around a set of warm clothes just in case but I think she'll be ok! You'll be able to tell if she's freezing or neutral :) you got this mama!

@sjo1, i was thinking too, i packed her some shorts and a few blankets for the car ride because i know me and dad love our AC, for the most part i will keep the house cool just so i can control her body temp in a way, im really worried about her being cold 80 degrees isnt like the womb neither is 77

I dressed my girl summery so she wouldn't be too hot ! Then when we were at cool places I just covered her up with light swaddle blankets :) it worked out for us! She was born second week of August and it was still super hot
