I feel like a lot of moms are posting about how their 7-8 month old babies are saying a few words. Is this true or are they maybe just reading into their baby noises to much? Maddox is no where close to saying actual words but he baby talks.

My 3 never said anything till 9+ usually closer to 10 months. Granted one has special needs so talked late, but none of my kids ever spoke at 7-8 months. Sure they chattered things that sounded like a word but wasn’t.

My 1 year old says mama, daddy and a nearly yes. That all started around 9-10months old though. He chatters away and makes lots of noise but he’s not saying proper words.

My son is almost 6 months and listening to him his first word would have been "hi" a few weeks ago. I agree with you. Some people might just be listening to the baby noise. I wouldn't count my sons "hi" as a first word because he doesn't understand that he even said it.

My son is 8 months and says mom all the time but that's it. He says it more so when he wants something lol. All kids are different though so I wouldn't be too worried

My son said dada at 8 months and knew what it meant. His second word came at 10 months. He only said those two for a while though, language picked up tremendously around 18 mo

Theo knows what mama and dada mean but he also says hi and yum I don't think he fully understands what hi and yum means though
